Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd insists that young midfield star Aron Gunnarsson will not leave the club this summer.

The 19-year-old Icelander enjoyed a superb first full season with the Sky Blues in 2008-09, but struggled to replicate his form last term.

Boothroyd told the Evening Telegraph: "We have had no calls from anyone. I don't even know who is agent is and no-one has spoken to me about him."

Of Gunnarsson's approach to the game, Boothroyd added: "Sometimes it can be down to age and they hit the ground running, then they think they don't have to work as hard and forget the heights that got them there in the first place.

"They don't mean to do that, but they psychologically down tools.

"Then sometimes they just have a really bad attitude and think they are better than everyone else and they are not.

"But having worked with Aron for a few days, I don't think it would have been down to attitude and rather he is just coming to terms with the expectation of being a good player."
