Boothroyd ruling out sale

Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd has insisted that sought-after midfielder Aron Gunnarsson will not be leaving the club in the near future.

The Iceland international linked up with the Midlands-based outfit in 2008 after sealing a move from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and he has impressed when playing in central midfield and at right back.

But Bothroyd is not ready to part with the 21-year-old as he looks to make his on the Ricoh Arena club.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, he said: "We have had no calls from anyone. I don't even know who his agent is and no-one has spoken to me about him.

"I like him and I think he has got a lot of strengths."
