Boothroyd hails Sky Blues character
Boss Aidy Boothroyd saluted the spirit shown by his Coventry side as they held on to the lead given to them by Gary McSheffrey to clinch all three points at Sheffield United. The Sky Blues winger headed the only goal midway through the first half, coming in between two efforts from the Blades which rattled the City woodwork.Naturally, the hosts applied plenty of second-half pressure in search of an equaliser but Coventry held strong at an intimidating Bramall Lane and that pleased Boothroyd."We stood firm when we had to and played football when we could. That was a good combination. The scoreline tells you that," he said."We swapped things around a little bit as the match wore on because we knew we were going to come under the cosh - and we did."But the lads showed a lot of heart and guile to weather it when we did. That gives me a lot of satisfaction and I'm pleased with the way we are progressing. I don't care what anyone says, this is always a very tough place to come."
