Barnett welcomes City stay

Defender Leon Barnett is delighted to have extended his loan stay at Coventry City until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old centre-back has impressed since joining the Sky Blues from West Bromwich Albion and Barnett has welcomed a longer stay at the Ricoh Arena.

He told the club's official website: "It's a really good feeling to know you're wanted by a club and the way the manager and the players have been has made me feel that way here.

"I just hope I can repay the club's faith in me with good performances up until the end of the season.

"I wasn't too sure what was going to happen originally, but the manager said he wanted me to stay and now it is all sorted, it's put me in a very positive frame of mind."
