Coventry City have continued their summer rebuilding programme with the capture of Crystal Palace striker Dele Adebola on a Bosman free transfer from Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international has signed a two-year deal with the Sky Blues.

Player-boss Gary McAllister has already signed Andy Morrell and Graham Barrett this summer as he looks to revamp his strikeforce.

Adebola started his career at Crewe and scored 39 goals in just 96 starts for Dario Gradi's side.

He moved to Birmingham City in a £1million deal in February 1998 and went on to spend more than four years at St Andrews scoring 29 goals in 85 League starts.

After a brief spell at Oldham, Adebola signed for Crystal Palace at the beginning of last season, where he was reunited his former boss at Birmingham, Trevor Francis.

However, Adebola struggled to find his best form at Selhurst Park and scored just five League goals for the Eagles last season.
