Coventry City boss Micky Adams has challenged Dele Adebola to prove he deserves a run in the first team.
The 31-year-old striker has endured a frustrating season of substitute appearances before starting last weekend's 1-0 victory over QPR and scoring the winner.
Adebola has been linked with an exit from the Ricoh Arena this season, but Adams insists he has a part to play for the Sky Blues should he show the necessary hunger and desire.
"Dele took his goal well and I was pleased for him because it's general knowledge that he's been frustrated by a lack of opportunities this season," Adams told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"But he came in on Saturday against QPR, led the line well and scored his goal, so I am delighted for him.
"We had a private conversation recently when I told him that, at the beginning of last season he was a real handful, and if he got back to that sort of form then it wouldn't be possible for me to leave him out."
