Worst 'Home' League Defeat Since 1998

Coventry City's 5-1 defeat to Tranmere Rovers at Sixfields Stadium was the heaviest league defeat since 1998.

The last time, City were beaten 5-1 at home in a league game was on September 19th 1998 when Newcastle United were the opponents.

Older readers may remember the previous hammering which was the 6-1 defeat to Liverpool, who had John Barnes on fire in 1990.

City's biggest home loss at the Ricoh Arena was the FA Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion in 2008 and saw a 5-0 defeat.
