New City boss on win at Scunthorpe

New Coventry City manager Steven Pressley described the 2-1 victory at Scunthorpe United as a wonderful first game.

Pressley told the Press Association after City's eleventh away league victory of the season: "It was a wonderful first game for me and what excites me most is that I think there is a lot more to come from these players.

"Scunthorpe put us under pressure in the opening 10 minutes. "But what encouraged me was the way we responded to that. The players showed me effort and character in abundance on what was a difficult afternoon with the weather and the pitch.

"Their response to going behind was magnificent. To me, they were outstanding. I thought we passed the ball well in difficult conditions, we defended well.

"And it is is wonderful for us to have someone like Leon Clarke up front. His goal ratio at this club is very good and he is a great asset to have."
