Willis Turns Down Nuneaton Move

Young Coventry City defender Jordan Willis has decided that he would be better off on loan at League Two club rather than struggling Conference side Nuneaton Town.

The defender was due to join Nuneaton on a month's loan but rejected the deal and played for City U21's versus Everton yesterday.

Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin told the Coventry Telegraph: “I can understand and respect that because Jordan’s a full-time player who probably wants to be involved at a full-time club,” said Wilkin.

“If it doesn’t happen then who knows, maybe we could revisit that situation. The two clubs had agreed but it was a question of agreeing with Jordan.

“We’re looking for loans and we’ll scour the market. With the money the club has got we rely on clubs in higher leagues letting players out to get match experience.

"We can’t reward them financially to the level they are at but we can offer them pitch time and that’s how we have to sell ourselves.”
