Former Coventry City forward Noel Whelan has said that he would like to become the next manager of the Sky Blues if Mark Robins departs for Huddersfield Town.

Tweeting, Whelan wrote: "Of course I'd want the job , I'm more than capable and know I'd be successful and carry on what Mark has left behind.

"I believe my application is there from the past 3 times lol , I'm sure the board know I'd love the chance to shine at Cov."
