City 'keeper injured Coventry City's goal keeper Kieren Westwood will miss Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifying game against Slovakia because of an injury he sustained in training. The 25 year old goal keeper was on the bench as understudy to Shay Given during last Friday's home 2-3 defeat to Russia and will now return to his club Coventry City for treatment for a facial injury. Brian Murphy of Ipswich will take Westwood's place in the Republic of Ireland squad for the trip to Slovakia. Westwood picked up the facial injury in training with the Ireland team. It is unclear how serious the injury is and whether he will be fit enough to play for Coventry City's trip to Ipswich on Saturday.
