Westwood out of Republic party
Keiren Westwood has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad and returned to Coventry for treatment on a facial injury sustained during training while on international duty.
Westwood, on the bench as back-up to Shay Given in Friday`s 3-2 home defeat to Russia, picked up the injury as Ireland look to get their Euro 2012 qualification campaign back on track in Tuesday`s clash against Slovakia.
He will now be assessed by Sky Blues medical staff at the club`s Ryton training ground ahead of Saturday`s trip to Ipswich.
