Westwood: I shouldn't have played

The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper had been sick for the previous 48 hours and visibly looked unwell prior to kick-off before eventually being forced off at half-time complaining he felt dizzy and weak.[LNB]Westwood, who has been touted as a January target for a handful of Premier League teams, accepts he maybe should not have made himself available but that he did so partly to prevent transfer talk heightening should he have become cup-tied.[LNB]"I had not been well so I possibly shouldn't have played," the 25-year-old told the Coventry Telegraph. "Maybe if I hadn't played because of being ill it might have caused a few stories but that wouldn't have been the case.[LNB]"I was always looking to play but just hadn't had any proper food for a couple of days, which wasn't great preparation to play against a Premier League team. I had blurred vision at half-time because I'd not eaten enough and had no sugar so I had to come off."[LNB]He added: "Regarding my future, it is not unsettling really. It's not really in my hands so I just have to play. I am happy here. I like the fans and the boys and I like the club and everything is going well."[LNB][LNB]
