Westwood attracts top-flight interest

Coventry have received January interest in Keiren Westwood from several Premier League clubs, according to chairman Ray Ranson. Westwood is widely touted as the number one stopper outside the top flight and has been the subject of bids in the past, with Tottenham tabling an offer 12 months ago. The Republic of Ireland international sees his contract expire at the end of the season. Sky Blues boss Aidy Boothroyd had previously insisted he would keep him at the club this month and risk losing his services on a free transfer in the summer so not to disrupt City`s promotion charge. But with Coventry having fallen out of form and drifted away from the play-off race for the time being at least, it seems the midlands club must now make a decision whether to cash in on their prized asset. "We have had a number of Premier League clubs show an interest in him," Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph, with Wigan and Everton heavily linked to a January move. Ranson added: "We have not put a price on his head and in the two-and-a-half years he's been at the club we have never quoted a price to anyone."
