We Work As A Unit - McPake
McPake On Defensive Unity Coventry City defender James McPake has been speaking about the closeness that he shares with his fellow central defenders at the club.The Scot speaking to the Birmingham based Sunday Mercury said: "We work together every day as a unit and we are all close. "When Woody and I were out we were hoping that Ben and Nathan would do well because we want the team to do well."There are no hard feelings from those who are left out; we know that you're always going to have injuries and suspensions. "Woody and Martin have both played there before and they are good players who know what they are doing so that's no problem," said McPake."Nathan is not very experienced but he's quality - everybody can see that - and he's good enough to be able to come in and pick it up."I try to talk to him during the game but I don't need to look after him - he helps me out as much as I help him out."I struggled when I came back at Forest and I had to come off in the second half. That's normal when you've not been playing and I'd only had a couple of reserve games - it takes four or five matches to get back into your stride, to get your timing right with tackles and headers. Sometimes you think it's never going to come right but I'm feeling a lot better now."After three defeats in a row we managed to turn it round and we've been delighted with the way we've performed as a back five.
