We Will Respond - Thorn

More from City boss on defeat to Ipswich Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said his players were talking about Saturday's game against Reading straight after the 3-0 defeat to Ipswich Town last night and are looking to get back to winning ways. Speaking to the CT, Thorn said: We were really sloppy in the first half-hour and that’s disappointing and frustrating because our fans know that’s not what we’re about. “Ipswich have got a very experienced side and they took full advantage of us. "We were in with a shout when it was only 2-0 at the break because it would have been quite interesting if we had got one back. “But although we created quite a few chances in the second half it wasn’t to be and their third was another really bad goal from our point of view – it was as if it was a non-contact sport because we didn’t tackle, we didn’t get near them. “We were wide open we got punished. There’s no getting away from the fact that it was a poor performance all round – a game too far for some of our players perhaps. “But we won’t mope about it, we’ll take it on the chin and work harder than ever in training to make sure that we do ourselves credit against Reading. “As soon as the game was over the boys were starting to talk about Saturday because they know they didn’t do themselves justice tonight and they want to put that right as soon as they can. "And I’ve got absolutely no doubt that they will respond because that’s the sort of players they are.”
