City boss on win at Stevenage

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley thought that although the Sky Blues 1-0 win at Stevenage was not pretty, it showed that City can win scrappy games.

Speaking about the win to the Coventry Telegraph, Pressley said: “We knew what to expect and we coped with it

“I thought we played some really good football in the first half and although it wasn’t always pretty we showed that we can win this sort of game.

“We earned a clear sheet at Carlisle when we absolutely dominated the game but today we faced up to a different challenge and we never looked like conceding a goal until right at the end when Joe Murphy pulled off a superb reflex save.

“I want to build a team who play exciting, attractive football but it’s also improving to prove that you can battle your way to three points and this was just the sort of performance we needed after a couple of setbacks.”
