Boothroyd on win against Doncaster Rovers Aidy Boothroyd has said that Coventry City must stop conceding silly goals.City conceded two preventable goals against Preston and one on Tuesday night against Doncaster and after the game which City won 2-1, the City manager said to the Press Association: "My players have to understand how to manage a game when they are on the pitch and not get too excited."With five minutes to go my centre-halves were going up for free-kicks. Why? I just want them to defend."We can't keep giving away silly goals. We will score but we also have good defenders and we should be keeping more clean sheets."When you have games like that you just have to say sorry and take the points. It was a good result but not a good performance in the second half."We were playing well in the first half and they had to change their system to stop us. When we went ahead we played some very good stuff but again we made some naive mistakes."All of a sudden, it was 1-1 and we were thinking that we should never be in that position, but fortunately we came out with the win."Gary McSheffrey came on and scored and he took his goal very, very well. "He had done really well before picking up his injury a couple of weeks ago but this 45 minutes was everything I want from him."At the end of the season when this game is forgotten, the points could prove to be very valuable."Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service.
