Moussa On the Need To Beat Teams Not So Highly Rated

Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa has said that City need to start beat the teams lower down the division as well as getting results against the likes of Wolves and Leyton Orient.

City drew 1-1 at a Wolves side tipped for an automatic return to the Championship and beat league leaders Leyton Orient 3-1 on Tuesday night at Sixfields.

Speaking about that, Moussa who scored a stunner against the O's said to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph:  “It was a great result and I am sure people will be talking a lot about us breaking their unbeaten record, but as a group of players we feel like we can do stuff like that.

“Beating the best teams is great, but the test will be when we play against the teams who are not so highly rated because we have to get results against them as well.

“I think we have to forget about just staying up. We’ve got past losing the ten points so our season has started now, and I think it can become a really good season. If all the individuals work hard together then you get results like that.

“That was our best performance so far, given the strength of opposition. When we got in the changing room everyone was knackered but delighted because we felt we deserved it and that it came from within.

“We have played them twice before and felt we could have beaten them on both occasions so we owed them one a bit.

“We knew we had the ability and confidence to beat them and I think our performance shows what we can do as a team.

“Something I have to say about this side is there are a lot of players who want to do extremely well, whether it be youngsters trying to establish themselves or experienced players reaching their peak and still showing they want success.

“We have a good blend of different incentives among the players and we can see that at the training ground as well as in games. No-one feels the shirt is their’s so there is always competition – that’s an extremely good feeling which is why I’m happy to be part of this team.”
