We Are Still A Work In Progress - Boothroyd

City boss not getting carried away. Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd claims that his side are still a work in progress.City travel to Sheffield United today in sixth place following a win against Barnsley but the City bos says there is much more to do.Speaking to the CT, Boothroyd said: "Everyone is doing cartwheels because we are in the top six and we are in the automatics and two defeats and we wre mid-table mediocrity again, so it is a work in progress and I expect us to be in and around it all along until we get everyone fit."Until then, we want to be hanging our coat tails on the leaders and not getting there too early."We want to time our run like the Kenyans in the 10,000 metres, just get on the shoulders of the pace makers and then when the time is right and providing everyone is fit, we are going to make a real charge for it but that that is a long way away."This always happens when you get a little bit of success, everyone gets excited but we will not be getting excited about being sixth, not right now anyway."There is no point in flying off to the front now because looking at where QPR are now with 29 points, we had 31 points at this stage with Watford and ended up sixth with 71 points, so there are so many different things that can happen over that period of time so I think where we are now is now more than healthy."Sixth is nothing to get excited about in October and I don't think it is anything to particularly get excited about at the end of the season either really."What we want to do is set high standards and keep getting better all the time. We have shown little bits and pieces so far that we can be a really good team but the minute we start getting excited with ourselves and patting ourselves on the back, you know what happens and it usually means you are heading for a big fall."So now is the time to be even more tougher on the players and tougher on myself because we have got a very difficult game against a very good team today so we have to be at our best and we will be be. "But we won't get excited because teams are still finding their feet, just like we are."
