We Are Heading In The Right Direction - Coleman
Making progress maintains City boss Coventry City manager Chris Coleman maintains that the Sky Blues are still heading in the right direction."We are definitely going in the right direction. It's slower than we wanted to go but we are closer than we were," said Chris Coleman to the CT."The problem is that with ten games to go we were thinking "we've got a chance here' albeit an outside chance, rather than thinking 'we need to win these games or we'll be in a relegation battle like we were two years ago."When you have a poor end to the season after promising so much, supporters naturally think 'not good enough again' or even 'terrible'. But the fact is that two years aho, we were scrapping for our lives and since then we have lost Leon Best, Danny Fox, Scotty Dann - our so called better players and the money we made on them has had to be put back into the club. "Financially, the club is a much better position, we've got a stronger squad and we are not involved in a relegation dog-fight."We, or rather the Chairman, has done it by being very clever and responsible in the transfer market. If he says to me 'we can't do this or that' than I look at the options. "This summer could change everything. I don't want the supporters to think we will sign two or three players and be top six or anything, but we want to make improvements in the right positions and take one more step next season."I'd like to think that next time we could be pushing for it with five games to go rather than ten like this year - and I'm sure the fans would take that."
