Ward In Charge Of City's Trip To Middlesbrough

Referee announced The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game at Middlesbrough is Gavin  Ward of Surrey. Twenty eight year old Mr Ward started refereeing at the age of thirteen in Kent and worked his way  through the Kent and Isthmian Leagues.  He has officiated at the FA Trophy Final and Championship Play Off Final, and for the 2007 Carling Cup Final, he was the first match official to be appointed as ‘ reserve assistant ‘ in a major domestic Cup Final. He has had 31 matches this season including City's 4-1 home defeat to Bristol City and has shown 91 yellow cards and three red. His last match was Saturday's 2-1 win for Burton at Aldershot in which he cautioned six players. His only City game was the 1-1 draw with Preston North End last season which saw three cautions The assistants are Scott Duncan from Newcastle Upon Tyne and Paul Kettlewell from Lancaster and the Fourth Official is Steve Smith from County Durham.
