Ward In Charge Of Brighton V City

The referee currently appointed to take charge of Coventry City's next game, the trip to Brighton, will be Gavin Ward from Surrey.

The 29 year old got into refereeing through his step dad and is in his third season on the referees list after spending five years as an assistant referee.

He has had seventeen games so far this season. and has shown 54 yellow cards and five red. One of his three Championship matches was Brighton's 2-0 win over Peterborough.

His last City game was the 4-1 home defeat to Bristol City back in March and his only other City game was the 1-1 draw with Preston on April 17th 2010.

His assistants will be Ian Crouch from Kent and John Magill from Essex. The fourth official will be Robert Whitton from Essex.
