Ward blow for Sky Blues

Coventry will be without Danny Ward for around a month after the on-loan youngster returned to Bolton to undergo a hernia operation. The 19-year-old arrived at the Ricoh Arena last month on a deal until January and has made four Championship starts and one substitute appearance so far. But his time at the club had already been interrupted by a calf problem before manager Aidy Boothroyd on Thursday afternoon revealed the latest setback for the talented youngster. "Danny has had to go back to Bolton, he`s got a hernia," said the Sky Blues boss. "I`ve spoken to Owen (Coyle, Bolton boss) and he`s gone back up there, he`s going to have his operation and hopefully we`ll get him back as soon as. I don`t know how long he`s going to take, it depends on the surgeon he sees, so we`ll have to wait and see. A month hopefully." Meanwhile, Marlon King remains a big doubt for Saturday`s trip to Ipswich with the striker due to have a fitness test on his dead leg on Friday, although Boothroyd fears the game may come too soon for him.
