Germany first then to Sweden for skipper Coventry City club captain Lee Carsley is to fly to Germany to have a hernia operation and then on to Sweden to have an operation on an Achilles injury repaired.Carsley will be operated on by the same surgeon Dr Ulrike Muschaweck, who operated on Carl Baker's hernia and he was fit again to play ten days after the operation. He will then fly to Sweden to have a niggling Achilles tendon injury repaired and will be able to recover from both injuries at the same time thereby reducing the time City will be without their captain. He will be out least three weeks and will miss out on a trip to former club Birmingham City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. He will also be missed in at least three other important games for the Sky Blues including the trip to Leeds and the games against Nottingham Forest and QPR.Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd will miss his inspirational and hard working skipper and explained to the CT: "Lee has been playing through the pain as people like him tend to do."" I'd love to have him for the whole of the season but he's played more games at this stage than he has for a while and I'd rather get these things sorted out now rather than losing him for the run in."Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service.
