Turner praised by Westwood

Westwood distracted. Keiren Westwood has praised Coventry City defender Ben Turner for his work last Saturday and at the same time he has admitted he has been distracted during the opening exchanges of the new season. Turner cleared the ball off the line following a rare mistake by Westwood and then popped up at the other end to score City's second goal when he rose above the rams defence and headed the ball into the Derby net.  It was Turner's first goal for Coventry City and secured all three points for The Sky Blues who maintain their unbeaten record. Westwood pulled off another trademark save of the top order near the end of the game to make sure his side left The Ricoh Arena with three points, but then left immediately after the final whistle to be with his wife who is due to give birth later today. Westwood has missed a few games for City this season because of a family bereavement and when he was on international duty with the Republic of Ireland. “The baby is due today. I was hoping she didn’t go into labour during the game. Westwood explained.  “I’ve missed enough games as it is, there have been some things going on behind the scenes that have been taking my mind off the ball, but now I’m back. She was at home, watching on Sky. I was glad it was on live because it was best for her to stay at home." ‘‘As soon as I turned round and saw Ben clear off the line, I was thanking my lucky stars. Big Ben’s done fantastically today and he’s been like that all season so far.’’
