Trust Respond To Points Deduction
Sky Blue Trust Statement Statement from the Sky Blue Trust in response to the news that it has been confirmed that Coventry City are indeed in administration and that the Football League have levied a 10 point deduction on the club. The Sky Blue Trust, the largest independent supporters body with over 1400 members, says that today is a very sad day for great club like Coventry City For the club to be placed into administration is yet another body blow for the long suffering supporters but whilst we fear for the future of the club today our thoughts are also with the club's employees who must be as confused and concerned as all the fans. Its a great shame that the Football League has levied a 10 point deduction as this deduction realistically puts paid to our play off hopes but thankfully we should already have enough points secured to avoid any threat of relegation. During this whole sorry dispute, which has dragged on for an entire year, the supporters have been treated discourteously and very badly, with little or no real information being given to them and this has lead to confusion and frustration and all sides in this dispute are as guilty as each other in this. Coventry City is now being run by the administrator, Paul Appleton of David Rubin and Partners LLP. The Sky Blue Trust has already made an approach to Mr Appleton and will be meeting him shortly to discuss how the Trust can aid in resolving any short term problems the club may face but also to discuss the very real prospect of supporter involvement in the ownership and governance of the club, supporter involvement is vital if the Sky Blues are to have a successful and sustainable future and this initial meeting will be the first step to securing that future.
