Coventry caretaker boss Andy Thorn revealed his disappointment after his side lost 2-1 at Middlesbrough.
Tarmo Kink came off the bench to score a late winner for the third time this season after Julio Arca cancelled out Lukas Jutkiewicz's opener.
"I thought we played really well and that we controlled the game for long spells and at the end I thought we were going to win it," said Thorn.
"To be honest I would have been disappointed just to draw the game when we were on top in the second half so I was gutted when we lost it.
"We had some good chances, asked a lot of the questions and we hit the post - the result was a bit cruel on us I thought.
"We played the best stuff since I have been in charge here so we are very, very disappointed."
