Thorn currently favourite Coventry City's chief scout Andy Thorn has emerged as early favourite with Sky Bet to succeed Aidy Boothroyd as manager after coming in for support this morning. The Leeds-based bookmaker had installed first team coach Steve Harrison as 6/1 favourite in the next Coventry City manager betting but he has now been replaced at the head of the market by Thorn, who, together with Harrison, has been put in temporary charge of team affairs.Sky Bet's Mike Triffitt said: "Most of the early money has been for Thorn, who would be a quick and cost-effective appointment for Coventry. "Given Coventry's growing financial difficulties, it looks likely that they will look in-house or towards an up-and-coming lower league manager rather than to the likes of Sam Allardyce and Alan Curbishley."Former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton has also been a popular bet this morning to fill the hot seat at the Ricoh Arena. Other frontrunners include Sam Allardyce 8/1 and former player Dion Dublin (6/1). Gordon Strachan is a 16/1 chance to make a return to the club a decade after he was sacked following the Sky Blues' relegation from the Premier League. The Sky Blues have won just once in their last 16 league games and are 1/12 to stay up and 6/1 to be relegated to League One.Next Permanent Coventry City Manager Thorn A 5/1 Harrison S 6/1 Dublin D 6/1 Hughton, C. 8/1 Allardyce S 8/1 Strachan G 16/1 Scott, A. 16/1 Poyet G 16/1 Magilton, J. 16/1 Clark, L 16/1 Blackwell, K 16/1 Dowie I 16/1 Parkinson P 16/1 Buckle, P. 16/1 Tisdale, P. 16/1 Keane, R. 20/1 Irvine A 20/1 Waddock, G 25/1 Penney D 25/1 Allen M 25/1 Knill A 25/1 Curbishley, A 33/1.
