Thorn disappointed with draw over Scunthorpe

We're a different animal now says Thorn Andy Thorn was both pleased and disappointed with the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe on Saturday. City's top scorer Marlon King put the home team ahead after just five minutes to take his season tally to 12 goals, but Scunthorpe equalised through their on loan signing from Leeds Ramon Nunez in the 38th minute. Thorn thought that this was the sort of game that Coventry would have gone on to lose earlier in the season.  “The way the first half ended, I think we might have lost that one two or three earlier in the season but we’re a different animal now, he said. “We started really well but they came back into it and we had to dig in to get a point. I was a bit disappointed with the result but really chuffed with the performance. We felt that this would be a really tough game and that’s exactly how it turned out." "The heat didn’t help. I was cramping up on the side so God knows what it was like for them, but once again we stuck to our principles.  We kept moving the ball around and created some good chances that would have gone in on another day. I’m proud of the fact that we didn’t start going direct and I’m sure everybody enjoyed it because it was a proper football match.” After King  notched his sixth goal in four games he then went on to miss a couple of chances to increase the, but so did Freddy Eastwood later in the game when he missed kicked in front of an open goal. Thorn could not criticise King for his misses though and said, “Bearing in mind what he’s done for this club he can miss half a dozen of them. He’s a top player, a top striker." He continued, “Their goal was disappointing. It took a ricochet and then a deflection, but those things will sometimes happen when you play the way we’ve been doing and I’m not going to start pulling people up or pointing fingers. We’re a very tight group, we’re all in this together and if we keep on doing the right things we’ll be fine.”
