Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that trying to save the team from relegation, considering what has happened this season will be a very tough job.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Thorn said: “I wouldn’t say it was impossible.

"It’s tough, really tough and the biggest thing for me has been the support I have had from the fans and my staff and players.

“If they weren’t giving me everything then I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now. When the fans are singing my name when we’re bottom of the league it’s because they understand the situation we’re in.

“It’s been a nightmare. I felt the end of last season when we finished I thought get two or three, maybe four new additions and we would have had a right good go this year. I was convinced of that but it went the other way.

“It’s a learning curve for me. There no point me sitting here and saying that’s it. Everyone knows how difficult the job is and if we stick together we have got a chance.

“Would I like more players? Of course I would. Would I have liked to get rid of all those players in the summer? Of course I wouldn’t but that’s the reality.

“We’ve got no chief scout on a full-time basis, no fitness coach, no this, no that. We are using interns and we are doing two or three people’s jobs but doing it with smiles on our faces because we want the club to come out the other end.

“As I have said before, we need that little bit of luck and for something to drop for us and I am sure we will come through, but it won’t be through any lack of affect on our part.”
