City now facing possible league expulsion

According to an article in the Guardian, Coventry City could possibly be expelled from the Football League if they do not tell the Government and the Football League exactly who the investors involved in SISU are.

MP Damian Collins, has written to the Sports Minister Hugh Robertson demanding that clubs, who do not say exactly who is involved with their club such as investors, be expelled from the league they play in,

The MP, who is a leading light at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and was heavily involved in the recent enquiry into football governance and has expressed concerns that SISU's involvement with Coventry City is not transparent enough .

SISU's rep on the Coventry City board Onye Igwe has said to the Guardian about the investors that "They are professional investors and they want confidentiality, which is normal practice in private equity." However, Mr Collins has support from HM Revenue and Customs as well as the Football League and Premier League.
