Support The Ricoh Arena Train Station Bid

Back the Bid say local councilors Coventry City Council are urging people to support the bid for government funding for Nuneaton, Coventry, Leamington and Kenilworth (NUCKLE) railway scheme which includes provision for a six carriage platform train station at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena home. According to the CT's Les Reid, City Councillors submitted their bid for government funding for the first phase of the project yesterday and it was a bid that was £1.9m lower than previously expected, coming in at £9.7m. The bid which includes provision for trains every fifteen minutes on a match day at the Ricoh Arena will be decided upon by Transport Minister Phillip Hammond by the end of this year. The Department Of Transport is running a consultation period until October 14th and people are urged to send positive comments about the bid via email to development.pool@dft.gsi.gov.uk
