Coventry City were a few pounds richer tonight when Danny Sturridge came on in the 60th miinute of England's game against Sweden tonight at Wembley.

Thanks to the Sky Blues having a sell on clause, City will receive a payment from Manchester City who in turn will receive £1m from Chelsea who had been told by a tribunal to pay £3.5m  and a further £3m based on future appearances for Sturridge after they signed him from Manchester City.

Gareth Barry scored England's goal in the 22nd miinute for England's first win over Sweden for 43 years. The goal was England's 2000th.

The Republic Of Ireland booked their place at Euro 2012 with a 1-1 home draw against Estonia. Former City forward Robbie Keane played in the game, which was a formality after Ireland won the first leg 4-0 on Friday night..
