ATT 45Goals Stuart Verrall 11, Lee Barratt 38,55, Karl Wilson 68,______________________________Coventry Sphinx were well beaten at Kirby Muxloe this afternoon. Kirby, who had lost 2-1 at Sphinx Drive earlier in the season and are a side expected to be challenging for the Midland Alliance League title ,took the lead in the eleventh minute when a long ball from the right by Tom Hill was flicked past Carl O'Neill by Stuart Verrall. Sphinx, with Josh Ruff back in the side, won two corners in the 20th minute before Jamie McAteer got his head to a free kick and beat the advancing keeper but the ball went wide of the far post. Verrall rattled the bar at the other end in a game that was becoming littered with free kicks, one of which Hill curled wide from on the half hour mark. Ruff also had an effort on goal with a free kick but in the 38th minute, Kirby hit a second goal when a cross from the right was not dealt with and Lee Barratt drove home with a low shot from the edge of the area.  With Wilson planting a header onto O'Neill's bar in the 40th minute, the Sphinx support were glad when the half ended.  Jack Edwards had a shot saved right at the start of the second half but ten minutes in, Kirby attacked down the left and Lee Barratt was at the far post to bundle the ball and O'Neill into the net for Kirby’s third. Danny McSheffrey went for a double change as the referee continued to wave the cards in what not a dirty game in the slightest but in the 68th minute, Kirby hit a fourth when Karl Wilson scored from inside the edge of the area to wrap up a 4-0 win.
