Sousa expects more from Swans

The Sky Blues were handed a glorious chance to take the lead but Sammy Clingan dragged his 14th minute penalty wide of the post after Andrea Orlandi handled in the box. And centre-back Ashley Williams made the home side pay for that as he struck his second goal of the season midway through the second half to end the Swans' winless start to the Championship season. Sousa said he never had any doubt that his team would find their feet and is convinced there is more to come from the Welsh side, despite the fact his forwards are not finding the net. He said: "This was not a relief and I believe we can grow much more than we have up to now. "If we have the desire like that we will get more points. What I want and expect from my team is to be competitive and in the top 10 at the end of the season. "It is not a concern that the strikers are not scoring. If you look at the last game every player is having opportunities and in my opinion that is the important thing. I just hope we start scoring them." Swansea began brightly but the first real chance of the game was awarded to Coventry when midfielder Orlandi handled Aron Gunnarsson's long throw. Clingan stepped up but pushed the penalty wide of Dorus de Vries' right post. Coventry manager Chris Coleman said: "We didn't lose the game because of the penalty. If we had been on the front foot in this game, we would have got a result. "That is no disrespect to Swansea because they play good football and have a good manager but we can be better than that. That's our fifth game in 13 days so there is maybe a bit of fatigue creeping in but I am not going to make excuses. "We had one or two under-performing so we hope to have another face in early next week to put a bit of pressure on." After Clingan's miss, strikers Leon Best and Clinton Morrison went close with headers but debutant Chad Bond should have put the Swans ahead in first-half injury time, heading wide when he was free in the box. The home side started well in the second half but could not make their possession count and Swansea took control once again. And they took the lead in the 69th minute when Williams was the first to react after Leon Britton volleyed against the crossbar and he smashed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
