City Keeper On Defeat To Tranmere3

Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy felt when a number of the team are not at the races, it is always going to be a difficult day after the Sky Blues went down to a 5-1 defeat.

Murphy, who had no chance with any of the goals, told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s Geoff Foster: “Six or seven of us were not at the races and we were poor today.”The first two goals were sloppy and it was a real eye opener but hopefully we can move on, with the game against Rotherham on Tuesday.”A good team does not steamroll teams every week and has the odd bad result and shows character and the gaffer said fair play to them and we were not at it. We have to get back to way we play best. ”Letting in five today and three last week is not good and we apologise to the fans who came and hope to put it right on Tuesday.”
