Sky Blues star welcomes competition

The 20-year-old was the club's star performer last term but endured a testing first half to the current campaign, both on and off the pitch, and subsequently found himself in and out of Chris Coleman's starting XI.[LNB]But he now admits he is back to his best and identifies the competition Irishman Deegan brought to the club when he signed in January as one of the main reasons behind his notable improvement.[LNB]"Gary's arrival has certainly boosted my performance because now we have more competition in the team," he told the Coventry Telegraph. "Maybe I was too comfortable with my place in the squad and thought I could relax more if I am always playing.[LNB]"At the end of the day it is a team game and I have been doing well and working hard in training as well and I need to push myself forward and I need to do that more now."[LNB]The Iceland international is preparing for Wednesday's friendly in Cyprus but will be back in the country on Thursday and insists he will be available for the trip to Peterborough.[LNB][LNB]
