Coventry are on the verge of concluding deals for free agent Marlon King and Bolton winger Danny Ward ahead of Saturday`s derby clash against Leicester. King, 30, who worked under Aidy Boothroyd at Watford and has a close relationship with the Sky Blues boss, is expected to tie up a deal with the club on Friday having been training at Ryton of late. The striker`s future has been the subject of much scrutiny after he was released from prison back in late July after serving half of his 18-month sentence for sexual assault and causing actual bodily harm. Boothroyd said: "I`m hoping, fingers crossed, we can get Marlon in for the weekend, we`re very close now. There are no problems at all (regarding the hold up) it`s just a very delicate situation. It`s not if, it`s when. The quicker the better for me and I`m hoping we can do that." Highly-rated Bolton youngster Ward, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Swindon last season, is likely to conclude a loan deal which will run until January. "The fact Adam Johnson and Ashley Young did so well at Watford, sometimes I can point to that," added Boothroyd. "I think Danny, without putting too much pressure on him, reminds me a lot of Adam, in fact slightly bigger physically and perhaps could be a better player."
