From the Sky Blue Trust Board Meeting

Proposed inquiry by Culture, Media and Sport Committee   This has been raised with the Committee’s Chair and with Coventry MPs. The Committee are expected to return to the issue of football governance as soon as their agenda permits and the events surrounding Coventry City’s plight are sure to feature significantly   Proposed City Centre event   Although the idea of this was supported at the open meeting and the subsequent Board, no volunteers have come forward to carry out the substantial work required to make such an event successful.  The Board was also concerned that mid-Winter may not be the best time to hold an event to attract mass participation.  The Board does intend to revisit this later in the football season. In the meantime, steps will be taken to arrange a Trust Christmas social event, featuring the recently produced Sent from Coventry music.   Asset of Community Value registration for Ricoh Arena   This is being progressed. The Trust is waiting for a response from Coventry City Council’s Chief Executive who, at a meeting a few months ago, agreed to look into the implications of such a registration and let the Trust know whether he thinks it would be helpful in present circumstances. The Board will reconsider the matter in the light of his reply. The intention is to consult Trust members formally before submitting an application for registration.
