City boss on win over Tranmere

Coventry City manager Mark Robins was happy to get the victory over Tranmere Rovers at the Ricoh Arena tonight.

Speaking to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Geoff Foster, Robins said: "We played well in the first half but not so in the second.

"The stats were in our favour in the first but we went off the boil in the second half. Fortunately, we had an inspired Joe Murphy in goal to get us out of the mire and give us a clean sheet.

"Because of the way we play, we are still learning when we can play out from the back.

"We were running out of steam and under a bit of pressure. The players had a day off on Monday and I think it showed but they have done us proud.

"i'm delighted for the supporters who turned out on a freezing cold night and even my ears are freezing."
