Ricoh Rent Free Offer A Cheap Publicity Stunt

Offer Seen Through By City Support

The offer made by Arena Coventry Limited for rent free accommodation at the Ricoh Arena for the Sky Blues whilst Coventry City Football Club Ltd is in administration is being described by a number of City supporters on various forms of social media as a cheap publicity stunt.

Arena Coventry Limted, who are amongst the bidders for CCFC LTD, said in a carefully worded press release that the offer is "Coventry City Football Club Limited, which owns the League Share, remains in administration."

With at least six various consortiums including a SISU entity expected to send their final and best bids to the administrator Paul Appleton by noon on Thursday, CCFC Ltd could conceivably be out of administration long before the Football League season starts on August 3rd as Mr Appleton will have done his job and got bidders for the company which Tim Fisher has always maintained is a non-trading company.

If the directors of Arena Coventry Limited really are 'deeply concerned with how the emotions of Coventry City Football Club supporters have been tested over recent months and more especially the past few weeks', then they need to come up with something more substantial to help ensure that Coventry City continue to play their football in Coventry.
