Ricoh Arena Station Gets Government Backing

Train scheme gets the Government nod

The Government has announced this morning that it has given the green light to a £9.8m funding bid for the Nuneaton, Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington (NUCKLE) scheme which includes provision for a railway station at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The scheme which has been delayed is now expected to be completed some time during the winter of 2013/2014.

Transport Secretary Justine Greening made a statement to the Commons this morning and announced nearly £600m's worth of investment in 21 schemes including the NUCKLE scheme which also includes a new platform at Coventry station and a new Bermuda Park station.,
