Ranson expecting busy January

Over the opening 18 games of the season, the Sky Blues have felt the effects of a squad light in numbers and have drifted from a mid-table position looking at the play-offs to one in the lower regions just three points off the drop zone.

The amount of money available to manager Chris Coleman will remain closely under wraps although further additions to his ranks will come as a welcome and much-needed boost as the threat of departures continues to loom.

Asked whether Coventry fans should expect any New Year presents in the transfer window, Ranson told Sky Blues Player: "I never make any promises but I should imagine we've got a few.

"Chris was involved in a board meeting a few weeks ago, he comes in a couple of times a year, and we had an open and frank discussion on potential targets and how he'd like to strengthen the squad.

"So yes, I'm expecting to be quite busy in January."
