Thorn's advice for younger players Coventry City young strikers Shaun Jeffers and Callum Wilson that they need to push for places in the first team in the new season. Speaking about Jeffers and Wilson who have both signed new two year deals to the CT, Andy Thorn said: "I'm pleased that they have signed. "Callum and Shaun will both be strikers because we don't play with wingers at the moment so they will be pushing in an aroun the squad and it's their chance to improve. "They went out and gained experience at non-league and league clubs last season and it's good because you need the young talent coming through. "Gael Bigirimana, Josh Ruffles and Conor Thomas will all be stepping up as well this year and all training with the lads so we will have a bit of youth and experience in the squad. "Shaun and Callum are very similar- they are both quick and I think they'll benefit from the way we'll play next year. "Pre-season is a massive part of what we do and anyone who does well will play or be in around the team. There are no gimmes here. "We have got a good squad with some good players and everyone is buzzing about getting back in, so whoever does well will play. "I expect them to train hard every day and try to get their chance. If you are good enough, you are old enough and they'll get their chance over the course of the season because the whole squad will have play a massive part and we will all have to pull together. "And when people get their chance and do well, they will stay in the team, so there's the carrot for them. "The two young forwards have got pace, will learn and become better players and benefit from the way we want to play."
