Probably Our Best Performance - Nicholls

City Ladies Manager On Win At West Ham Craig Nicholls declared Coventry City Ladies’ 3-1 victory over West Ham United as their “best performance of the season”, as they cut the gap to one point behind second-placed Cardiff City on Sunday.

Helen Dermody’s terrific solo effort gave the Sky Blues a first-half lead at Ship Lane, before Destiney Toussaint struck after the break to double the advantage. Kelley Blanchflower pulled a goal back after the hour, but Dermody netted her fourth goal of the season to seal the three points.

“It probably was our best performance so far, especially as we knew that West Ham had drawn with Gillingham a couple of weeks ago,” admitted Nicholls.

“We were completely in charge in the first-half and for the vast majority of the second-half. Our play is getting better with every game and we have a great team ethic coming through.”
