City Boss On Baker Injury

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is to delay making a decision about whether to play Carl Baker for as long as possible.

The City skipper has not trained this week and has missed the Brentford, Stevenage and Leyton Orient matches due to a calf strain.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City boss said: “Carl hasn’t trained this week but we’re hoping he does some work on Friday and with the game being on Sunday it gives us another day to play with.

“He’s very positive but players always are in these situations because they’re desperate to play and we don’t want to take any unnecessary risks.

“We’ve had a couple of injuries to what I’d call key players in terms of our attacking balance and we’ve certainly missed them but the encouraging thing is that we’ve found a different way to get results."
