City Boss On Problems Of Recruiting

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley may have to wait until the January transfer window opens to bring in the players he wants.

The City boss has so far not been able to bring in a striker to replace the injured Leon Clarke for tomorrow's League One fixture against Rotherham United at Sixfields and told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “I’m looking to bring in a couple of players but I doubt they’ll be available for Tuesday night.

“It’s difficult, to be honest, because if you try to get a player on loan the first thing his club wants to know is whether he’ll be playing or sitting on the bench.

“I’ve got two strikers performing really well so if I try to bring in another one I can’t lie and say ‘yes, he’s going to play.’

“I have got targets in mind for January and I’m confident of getting them, but in the short term it’s a problem.”
