With the squad having been pruned by eight, Pressley will have to draft in a number of Academy graduates to join his squad of senior players.
As it stands at the moment there is just the one recognised striker in Leon Clarke, although Callum Wilson is poised to join the senior squad.
The only recognised centre half, Jordan Willis, called up to the England under 19’s this summer is currently injured.
The squad returns tomorrow for the start of pre-season training but the only senior players will be Joe Murphy, Carl Baker, Cyrus Christie, Franck Moussa, John Fleck, Conor Thomas, Adam Barton and Blair Adams.
Sever Academy graduates will step up to the first team squad, these are expected to include the young goalkeeper Lee Burge, full backs Aaron Philips and Ryan Haynes and midfielders Leon Lobjoit and Billy Daniels.
