Boothroyd wants loans from top flight It has emerged that Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has spoken to his chairman Ray Ranson about the players he wants to sign . Boothroyd is keen to add some quality strikers to his squad and is thought to looking at signing Premiership strikers on loan, while at the same keeping to the policy that City have had since Ranson took over at the club and that is to sign up and coming young talent  from the lower leagues. Now that top scorer Clinton Morrison has left the club, the first priority for Boothroyd will be to replace him with a striker who can score the often quoted and elusive twenty goals a season. It is this area where he will be looking to The Premiership to find players who would normally be well out of the price range for a club like Coventry City. Boothroyd has successfully attracted on loan good, young players to his clubs in the past, players like Adam Johnson and Ben Foster, who joined Watford for a while. Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson confirmed the loan approach by saying, “Aidy has given me a list of players he wants so we know who he wants to bring in. As he has shown in the past, Aidy is very good at bringing players in and getting the best out of them.” The transfer window opened on June 1st and it is believed that Mr Ranson has made enquiries with several managers to see who might be available. When it is known who will be allowed out on loan, contract negotiations will begin to try to attract the players to The Ricoh.
